School of Choice!

Capistrano Unified School District’s School of Choice program offers parents within the CUSD boundaries the opportunity to apply for another CUSD school that they would like their child to attend.

If you are interested in having your student attend a CUSD school for next school year, that you are not zoned for, you have to complete a School of Choice application during the window.  This includes students who are transitioning from elementary to middle school or middle school to high school, and wish to request another school other than your School of Residence.

For more information, please visit the School of Choice website using the link below.

Application Window: January 31 to March 4, 2022

New Student Registration: Starts January 31, 2022

Notifications:  Notification emails will be sent by April 15, 2022

STEM Night is Back at Hankey. Tier II Approved Volunteers are Needed.

Save the date for our upcoming STEM Night on Friday, February 11th from 3:30pm-5:30pm on the blacktop behind Hankey. All families are welcome to come and participate in hands-on STEM activities presented by the CAPO High School STEM club. Activities include: make your own dippin dots, dry ice bubbles, balloon rocket races, spaghetti towers, trash can smoke vortex, bottle rockets, math relay race, and earthquake shake table. Don’t miss our big Elephant Toothpaste demonstration and free raffle prize winner announcements at the end of the event. We are in need of a few tier II approved volunteers to help us make this event happen for our Hawks. Please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a45a5a62fa7fa7-stem if you can help us on that day. Contact our STEM Night chair, Nikki Ford, at nikkiannford@gmail.com with any questions. Thank you for your support!

Help us get back to “normal”!

Hankey families- our PTSA is working hard to resume some of our in-person family events and traditions in a safe and FUN way, and we can’t wait to see you all there!

In the upcoming months we will be having a family STEAM night with lots of hands-on experiments, a Bingo night, and the Hankey Hop!

One special part of these traditions is to offer prizes and hold raffles – sometimes as a fundraiser, and often just for fun! Here’s where we need your help. If you, your family or employer have the opportunity to donate any raffle items or have connections to local businesses that may be interested in offering a donation or discount, it would be greatly appreciated. (We are also working to build up our depleted supply of decorations, paper goods, etc.) Donations of all shapes and sizes are very welcome, and all donations to the Hankey PTSA are tax-deductible.

Please contact Erin Rudd at tripledog3@gmail.com or 602-909-4096 with any donation leads, information or questions.
