Immunization Information for our 6th Grade Families

Parents of Hankey 6th graders, you will be receiving the 2021-22 Letter to Incoming 7th Grade Parents in the mail this week.  This letter provides specific information regarding required immunizations for entry into 7th Grade in the State of California. Please call the Office if you have any questions (949 234-5315).

Nothing Says “Happy First Days of Spring” Like the Gift of a Flock!

Until the end of the school year, Hankey will be raising money for PTSA program and events by sending flamingos to family and friends!  For a small donation, you can surprise everyone by sending them a flock of flamingos that will decorate their front yard. Celebrate life events or just spread the flamingo joy in a fun, Covid friendly way. Under the cover of darkness the flock will arrive and stay for 2-3 days until they migrate to the next yard.

Visit www.carlhankeyptsa.org/flocking for more info and to place your order. Once the online order and payment is received by Hankey, a flock will appear in the recipient’s yard along with a letter explaining their arrival.  You can choose to let the person know it was you who flocked them or keep it anonymous.  If you have any further questions please contact our flamingo wranglers at carlhankeyptsa@gmail.com.

So… who will you flock this weekend?

Grocery Gift Card Drive

Just a reminder that during the month of March, Hankey’s PTSA is hosting a grocery gift card drive to help families struggling in our school community. Thank you to all the families who have already generously donated gift cards!  If you would like to help, please consider purchasing a grocery store gift card (Albertsons, Pavilions, Trader Joes, etc) and dropping it off at school. It is helpful if each gift card has the dollar amount written on the card. There will be a collection box on the table by the front office and students can drop off the cards before or after school. Collections have begun and will continue until Wednesday, March 31st. The gift cards will be distributed by Mrs. Aguilera and Mr. Smith to Carl Hankey families in need.

Celebrating the National School Breakfast Program

To recognize the School Breakfast Program and millions of children it serves daily, CUSD schools celebrate National School Breakfast Week March 8-12. The theme, “Score Big with School Breakfast,” celebrates the importance of breakfast and encourages schools to increase students’ access to school breakfast. Students that pick up breakfast (Middle Schoolers- during their Break, elementary when they get their lunches) during March 8-12 have the opportunity to receive a winning golden ticket for a pair of Beats wireless headphones! There will be a total of 16 golden tickets randomly distributed throughout the district at elementary, middle and high schools as well as at our weekly meal distribution sites for 100% online students.
