Volunteers Needed @ the Hawk Trot!

Thank you to those who have already signed up to help promote the Hawk Trot by running our $1 spin and win prize wheel before or after school leading up to the run.  If you haven’t signed up already and are interested in helping click https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0a45a5a62fa7fa7-hawk1 to sign up. If your kids want to help with promoting the event, we welcome them to join you. Middle schoolers can receive service hours. We’ll have posters made up that they can hold and stand by the wheel with you or walk up and down the car line during drop off or pick up.

Please visit https://form.jotform.com/caljohnson/volunteer to request to be a Tier II volunteer for Hankey K-8 Academy if you would like to volunteer on the day of the Hawk Trot, Thursday 11/18. It takes a couple of weeks to be greenlit to volunteer so please start the process now if you haven’t already. Email Jenn Katayama at jkatayama@gmail.com to let her know if you can help on the day of the event.

Run for IB in This Year’s Hawk Trot on Thursday, November 18th

Support IB by raising money in CHIEF’s biggest fundraiser of the year, our Olympic themed fun run, the Hawk Trot. Register your students online at www.pledgestar.com/carlhankey to get started sending emails and raising money for IB programs like elementary Spanish and middle school design. Every student who sends at least 10 emails and or collects donations will be eligible to win 4 Disneyland park hopper tickets! For each $25 raised, students will receive an extra virtual raffle ticket. Winners will be drawn for both Elementary and Middle school. The more you raise, the more chances you have to win! The elementary and middle school students who raise the most money for IB will get to slime Principal Aguilera or Vice Principal Smith. Classrooms/SOAR classrooms that reach their goal of raising $1500 will get slime prize packs and extra slime to dump on our Principal/VP. Treat parties for classrooms are planned for each week’s highest tally of donations. Bring your dollar bills and look for our $1 Spin & Win Prize wheel in front of school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays before and after school in the weeks leading up to the run to win even more cool prizes. Thank you for your support!

The winning classroom for this week’s highest tally of donations is Mrs. Peterson’s 1st grade class. This superstar class has raised $1,609 in less than a week earning them a treat party (date TBD) AND the honor of dumping an extra bucket of slime over Mrs. Aguilera’s head! The Hawk will deliver slime prize packs to the entire class sometime next week. Keep up the good work Hawks! Your child’s class could be next. Turn in your donations by Wednesday of next week for your child’s class to be eligible for next week’s treat party win. Multiple classes are fast approaching their $1500 classroom goal.

As of Thursday morning Hankey has raised $4,637 towards its $25,000 school wide goal. Together, with your help, we can fund IB!
