IReady Tests- Grades 3-8

On April 21, 2021, the Board of Trustees approved the implementation of local assessments in place of State Assessments. The i-Ready math and reading diagnostic tests will be administered over the next three weeks.

What is i-Ready?

i-Ready is an online adaptive diagnostic that will help us determine your child’s strengths and areas for growth. i-Ready allows us to meet your child where they are and provides us with data to inform instruction. The results of the assessments will be mailed to families this summer.

The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your child’s needs. Each item a student receives is based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier ones.

What can I do to help?

To help prepare your child for the i-Ready Diagnostic, encourage them to:

· Get a good night’s sleep and eat a full breakfast the day of the assessment.

· Try their best on each question and try not to rush.

· Try not to worry about questions they do not know—remind them that it is expected they will get only about half of the questions correct due to the adaptive nature of the diagnostic.

El 21 de abril, 2021, la Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar aprobó la implementación de evaluaciones locales en lugar de las Evaluaciones Estatales. Los exámenes de evaluación de matemáticas y lectura i-Ready se administrarán durante las próximas tres semanas.

¿Qué es i-Ready?

i-Ready es un sistema de diagnóstico en línea que nos ayudará a determinar las áreas de fortaleza y las áreas en las que su hijo debe mejorar. i-Ready nos permite conocer el nivel de su hijo y en el punto en que se encuentra y nos proporciona datos para orientar la enseñanza. Los resultados de las evaluaciones se enviarán por correo a las familias este verano.

El Diagnóstico i-Ready es una evaluación que adapta las preguntas y las ajusta de acuerdo a las necesidades de su hijo. Cada serie de preguntas que recibe el estudiante se basa en la respuesta a la pregunta anterior. Por ejemplo, una serie de respuestas correctas dará lugar a preguntas un poco más difíciles, mientras que una serie de respuestas incorrectas dará lugar a otras ligeramente más fáciles.

¿Qué puedo hacer para ayudar?

Para ayudar a preparar a su hijo para el Diagnóstico i-Ready, incentivarlo a:

Que duerma bien y tome un desayuno completo el día de la evaluación.
Que haga su mejor esfuerzo en cada pregunta y trate de no apresurarse.
Que no se preocupe por las preguntas que no sabe – recuérdele que se espera que sólo acierte la mitad de las preguntas debido a la naturaleza del diagnóstico.
