Most experts agree, students who study music at an early age enjoy improved academic performance, heightened self-esteem, and a sense of belonging. Music is an important part of a well-rounded education. At Hankey, our Primary Music (K-3) program is tailored to provide students will the foundational skills needed to fully participate in and benefit from the instrumental and general music programs offered to all students in 4th and 5th grade.
Music time is a favorite time for many students. We would like all of our K-3 students to continue benefiting from music education during the 2014-15 school year. Our program costs $10,500.
To meet this goal, we ask that each K-3 family directly to make a one-time donation of $75 (although any donation amount you are willing to make will be gratefully accepted) to fund this program.
The amount raised, together with the maximum matching donation of $5,000 pledged by the Hankey PTA, will provide your student with quality music lessons for a full semester during the upcoming 2014-15 school year.
